Course layout

The MEVE-001 deals with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Environmental Health. This course comprehended the various steps involved for various developmental activities in EIA. Environmental Impact assessment is an essential part of every developmental and industrial activity with an objective to ensure the developmental activities should not have any adverse effects. To achieve this objective, it is important to ensure the quality of EIA is of high order in order to assess the future adverse implications and adopt mitigation measures.

This course details on the various Environmental and Occupational Hazards. The course discusses on natural hazards and disasters. Natural disaster is an event like earthquake, floods, landslides that adversely affects the people either by damaging the property or through loss of life. Here we discussed geological hazards, where events like earthquake volcanic eruptions and landslides have been elaborated. Weather related hazards or coastal hazards have explained under meteorological hazards.

The design and use of non-print media constitutes a significant part of the instructional design in the context of distance education. The course examines the process of educational communication technologies in context. This course explores the specific nature and utility of various media in the educational context such as, the audio and video components, the computer and the satellite technologies. It also touches upon the operational aspects of media production and contains theoretical issues pertaining to media selection and integration.

Thus, the application of accounting in the business sector has become an indispensable factor. Cost and Management Accounting’ is very useful for optimum utilization of existing resources. These are branches of accounting and had been developed due to limitations of financial accounting. The course mainly focuses on Cost Accounting and Management Accounting.

Equally, humans have sought, as long as there has been conflict, to handle conflict effectively by containing or mitigating its negative consequences. This course is an effort to understand some of the major theoretical perspectives of conflict management, conflict transformation and conflict resolution.

Human security entails that a people-centered view of security is indispensable for national, regional and global stability. Human security challenges the traditional notion of national security by arguing that the proper referent for security should be the individual rather than the state. The United Nations Development Programme's 1994 Human Development Report argues that insuring "freedom from want" and "freedom from fear" for all persons is the best path to tackle the problem of global insecurity.
