Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance[Duration: 1 year, NSQF level-4]:

Course Content: Basics of electrical and electronic component related to hardware and networking system. Assembly and repair of desktop PC and laptops. Installation of different operating systems and all other application software, customization of OS, updating device driver, setting firewall security, junk file removal, data backup and data recovery techniques. Use of word, excel, power point. Install and work with Linux environment. Install and configure different types of printers, scanners and its troubleshooting. Study of various network devices like router, modems, switches, crimping and punching cables. Setting up and configuring network system, setting IP addressing techniques. Sharing and control of resources and internet connection over network. Creating Wi-Fi network. Networking security. Install and configure Windows and Linux server and add different roles. Use of Internet, send e-mails, etc

Skills Acquired: Computer System Hardware Analyst/Hardware Engineer: Plan layout and installation of new system or modification of existing system. Recommend and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and system that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation, and effective use of allotted space. Data entry into computer terminal to store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Specify power supply requirements and configuration. Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation. Maintenance of Servers, desktops, scanners, printers and networking devices. CCTV surveillance system. Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.

Data Communication Analyst/Network Administrator: Research, test, evaluate and recommend data communication hardware and software. Identifies areas of operation which need upgraded equipment, such as modems, fiber optic cables and telephone wires. Conducts survey to determine user needs. Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system, using equipment such as computer terminal and modem. Analyze test data and recommend hardware or software for purchase. Monitors system performance. Train users in use of equipment. Assist users to identify and solve data communication problems.
