A welding technician is typically the person who does the welding in construction or assembly work. He or she also makes critical decisions involving the type of welding techniques, equipment, and processes to be used.

This role is responsible for joining various types of metallic frames, structures, jigs, plates, sheets etc using heating and melting process created through electrical power and gaseous discharge, maintaining process parameters, conducting quality checks on output product and maintaining a safe & healthy working environment on the shop floor

DTP (desktop publishing) operators use specialist computer software to make sure that printed materials (such as books, newspapers, magazines and brochures) are well designed, attractive and easy to read

Welding assistants perform various welding, brazing or cutting tasks to assist lead welders during a welding project. Their job description entails a range of tasks to ensure welders lay down high quality welds.

The assistant role will be involved in performing small time routine jobs like cleaning, washing, fetching and holding tool for the operators, loading and unloading of work pieces on the welding assembly , bringing raw material and spare parts from the stores etc.

The job requires basic understanding of the welding process, safety orientation,ability to do physical tasks like lifting, holding etc.This course can also be used for capital goods sector.
