• Identify Computer Parts and operate the computer

A trainee after attending the course on ‘Driver cum Mechanic’ shall be able to drive motor car according to owner's requirement, observe road signals and traffic rules, repair motor vehicles under guidance of a Mechanic (Motor vehicle), jack up vehicle to the required height for repair in convenient position where necessary, lubricate joints, tighten loose parts and make necessary adjustments, set wheel alignment, adjust steering, clutch, hand brakes, brake pedal etc., fit new or repaired accessories and body parts, and carry out routine maintenance of battery and ignition systems, and tire.

• Can appear in 10+2 examination through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for acquiring higher secondary certificate and can go further for General/ Technical education
• Can take admission in diploma course in notified branches of Engineering by lateral entry
• Can join as semi-skilled worker in the industry and can become supervisor after doing part-time diploma in relevant branch of Engineering
• Can join Apprenticeship programme in different types of industries leading to National Apprenticeship certificate (NAC) after which they will be employed in industry as skilled worker and can become supervisor after doing part-time diploma in relevant branch of Engineering
• Can join Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) in the relevant trade after which they will be employed in ITI/ Vocational Training Institute as instructor

Examines engine by dismantling it for locating defects and for necessary repair/replacement and then reassemble it ensuring accuracy of fittings and performance as per specified standards. Checks, adjusts and lubricates engine periodically and performs such other functions to keep engine in good working order. 

On successful completion of this course the candidates shall be gainfully employed as:

• 1. Mechanic of Diesel Engine, Oil Engine in Automobile Industries
• 2. Fitter of diesel or oil engines
